Click here to see why Corowa Howlong Mulwala are the Choice holiday destinations Relax, close your eyes and listen….the bird songs, the rustle of the wind in the ancient River Red Gums, the sounds of the might Murray lapping against a sandy river bank, no car horns and the captivating sunset sounds as another day comes to an end. Welcome to the Corowa region where you'll be spoilt for choice. The Corowa region takes in the towns of Corowa, Howlong and Mulwala, plus a number of smaller villages. It offers visitors unique access points to Australia's mightiest river, with over 175 kilometres of prime Murray River frontage to be savoured. If it's action or just relaxation you're after, the Corowa region delivers on all fronts. We've got all of your water activities covered, whether it be on the Murray River or the magnificent 4,450 hectare Lake Mulwala. You can fish for the elusive Murray Cod, kayak, put the family in a canoe, water ski or wakeboard, put the boat in for a leisurely cruise, take a refreshing dip or swim, windsurf, dip your oar in for a spot of rowing, sail a dinghy or just while away the hours with a good book dangling your toes in the water. The choice is yours. For nature lovers, the region abounds in fabulous walking and cycling trails through the magnificent and ancient River Red Gum forests along the banks of the Murray. Many of these ‘grandfather' trees pre-date white settlement and provide a strong link back to the original custodians of the region, the Bangarang clan of the Yorta Yorta people. These trails also provide visitors with a close up view of the region's rich bird life, wildlife and flora. We invite you to explore the Shire's three focal points of Howlong, Corowa and Mulwala as well as some delightful surrounding villages.
