Corowa Shire Council - EXHIBITION OF DRAFT COROWA LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL PLAN 2011

Pursuant to Section 66 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, the draft Corowa Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2011 is exhibited for public comment from Wednesday 6 July 2011 to Friday 5 August 2011.

The Draft LEP 2011 proposes changes that will impact on the types of development that can and cannot occur throughout the entire Corowa local government area.

The Draft LEP 2011 is intended to replace the current Corowa Local Environmental Plan 1989 and Hume Shire Council Local Environmental Plan 2001. The Draft LEP 2011 implements the supporting information that was developed to guide future land use in Corowa Shire and is consistent with the new format for Local Environmental Plans required by the NSW State Government.

The Standard Instrument – Principal Local Environmental Plan, a number of environmental planning instruments and Directions made under section 117 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 substantially govern the content and operation of the Draft LEP 2011. These documents form part of this exhibition. Any submissions made pursuant to section 67 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 should be made having regard to that fact.

During the exhibition period, public information sessions are being held to address any questions from members of the community and to outline the changes proposed. The information sessions will be held as follows:

Note: It is a requirement for anyone making a submission that all Political Donations and Gifts made to a Councillor or Council employee are reported to Council by including a completed Disclosure Statement form. This form is available from Council's Administration Office.

Please also note that references in this notice to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 are references to the provisions as they applied prior to 1 July 2009 as those provisions applicable to the making of the draft LEP 2011.
