A free Safety Expo to raise awareness of both personal and community health will also be held. The Expo provides a unique opportunity to find out about fire safety, road safety, preventing break ins, boat safety, drug and alcohol use, safety for pets and sun protection all in the one place. A range of activities are on offer for the whole family at the Corowa RSL Club Truck & Car Show and Community Safety Expo. The regions own “Dancing with the Stars” will make you want to kick up your heels in Corowa for the Corowa Festival of Dance from 28 September to 1 October. The Festival is a celebration of music and dance and will greet visitors with a range of dance styles all with their own unique dance program. Be inspired by Australian sporting legends at the Corowa Golf Club's Sports Night on Friday 12 October. Meet Australian test cricketer Max Walker and five time world hockey champion, Jamie Dwyer. Don't forget the fun and excitement of the annual Corowa Show on Sunday 14 October. Carnival rides, side show alley, horse events, art, craft, flower and cooking exhibitions can all be enjoyed at the Corowa Showgrounds. Gates open at 6.30am. Spring is the perfect time to experience and explore some of the wonderful private gardens open for the Howlong Garden Walk. The walk will start from Pioneer Park at 1pm on Saturday 20 October. The Howlong Rural Fire Brigade Auction & Carnival is a great day out for the entire family on Sunday 21 October. Plenty of entertainment for the kids and you'll be sure to come away with a bargain at the Auction. Flower enthusiasts should not miss the Howlong Rose & Flower Show at the Memorial Hall on Saturday 27 October. Categories include rose, cut flowers of various kinds, plants in pots and hanging baskets, fruits, herbs and vegetables as well as a traditional scarecrow and novelty section. The Southern Cross Karinya Apartments Fete & Open House is a community event not to be missed. Cake stalls, trash and treasure, plants for sale plus an open house tour are all on the agenda for this fantastic day on Sunday 21 October. As a lead in to the Melbourne Cup Festivities, the Corowa Race Club will host the annual picnic horse race meeting on Saturday 20 October. Corowa has Melbourne Cup festivities all stitched up with a colourful four day Melbourne Cup Festival. Sanger Street Corowa will come alive on Monday 5 November from 11am with “The Great Australian Spring Carnival Cup”.
