Corowa Shire Council is excited to announce that international leader in community planning and empowerment, Jim Diers will be hosting a session for the Corowa Shire community during his visit to Australia this month.

Jim is the founder of the Seattle Neighborhood Power program and author of ‘Neighbor Power' and has over 30 years experience working with communities and local government.

He has travelled the world delivering workshops and presentations that provide community members, groups and organisations with the necessary tools to make things happen in their community.

To coincide with the launch of the Corowa Shire Community Strategic Plan, Council invites the community to attend an inspirational session with Jim Diers on Wednesday 25 July at the Corowa Shire Civic Centre from 5.30pm – 8.00pm.

This free evening will leave those who attend feeling empowered and excited about their community.

Corowa Shire Council Mayor, Fred Longmire is encouraging members of the community to attend.

‘We are really excited to have Jim visit Corowa Shire during his time in Australia. It's a great opportunity for us to all learn how we can work together to get some exciting projects off the ground.'

Workshops will also be held during the day for Council staff and Councillors from throughout the region.

‘It's great for us to be hosting other Councils here in Corowa, particularly for something as valuable as this.' the Mayor said.

Anyone wishing to attend the session is asked to advise Council on (02) 6033 8958 or kendall.reid@corowa.nsw.gov.au for catering purposes.
