Corowa Shire Council was successful with its application for funding under the Destination NSW Regional Product Development Program to install additional historical site signage and develop two new storyboards for Corowa.
Mayor of Corowa Shire, Fred Longmire is thrilled that Corowa's history and important links to Federation will be further promoted through the development of the new signage.
“The new site signs will compliment and expand the number of signs located in Corowa. The storyboards are something that I am really excited about. They will bring to life our history and links to Federation for current and future generations to enjoy and reflect upon.”
“Council is working in conjunction with Corowa Shire Tourism and the Corowa & District Historical Society on this project and we look forward to a wonderful result”.
“The new signage is scheduled to be installed during August 2012.”
Alan Handberg, President, Corowa & District Historical Society said “the new signage will substantially add to the historical experience visitors enjoy during their stay in Corowa.
“We believe the storyboards will become something of an attraction in their own right and further compliment the material on display at the Corowa Federation Museum .”
“Corowa Shire is to be congratulated with their vision, successful application and proactive approach in further promoting Corowa's historical story,” he said.
This project is proudly supported by the NSW Government, through Destination NSW and it's Regional Tourism Product Development Funding Program.
