Corowa Shire Council encourages any person who has land to be aware of their obligations responsibilities as the occupier of that land and to take all reasonable and effective measures to remove noxious weeds from their property.

Every home owner, landowner, occupier or persons(s) leasing or renting property must be aware of their obligations and responsibilities to control noxious plants. The person or persons who has the care, control and use of the land is the occupier. Each occupier who fails without resonable exscuse to take reasonable and effective measures to control noxious plants from their property shall be liable to a penalty fine not exceeding $10,000 (Ten Thousand Dollars) Noxious Weeds Act 1993.
