Federation Council

Federation Council

Federation Council was established on 12 May 2016. Our highest priority as a new council is to ensure we continue to deliver the many local services valued by our communities.

For more information about Federation Council, including new council boundaries and the official proclamation, please visit www.strongercouncils.nsw.gov.au.

All services that were provided by previous councils will continue to be provided by Federation Council. Rates and other payments can still be made, planning and development application services will continue, and waste collection services remain unchanged.

Postal and email addresses, telephone numbers and websites of the former councils will remain in place for now. Our customer service staff remain available to take your enquiries:

  • Customer Service Centres at Corowa are open from 8:30am - 5pm Monday - Friday and Urana 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday
  • Customer Service telephone enquiry lines: Corowa 02 6033 8999 and Urana 02 6930 9100
  • Customer Service emails: council@corowa.nsw.gov.au and Urana mail@urana.nsw.gov.au

The first meeting of Federation Council was held on 19 May 2016 at the Corowa Civic Centre, 100 Edward Street, Corowa.

Ordinary meetings of Council are held in the Federation Council Council Chambers at the Urana and Corowa Council offices.

Residents and ratepayers are cordially invited to attend Council meetings. To present to Council, please advise the General Manager in writing by 5:00 pm on Tuesday preceding the Ordinary meeting.

Agendas for Ordinary meetings will be made available to the public at 4:00 pm on the Friday preceding the meeting.

ALL future council meetings be held on the third Tuesday of the Month commencing at 2 pm.

We will be working with our new community to build strong and positive relationships and develop a vision and direction for our new council and community. More than anything, we look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Electors who are enrolled within the new Federation Council area do not need to vote at the council elections to be held on 10 September 2016. Elections for this council will be held on 9 September 2017. If you are unsure where you are enrolled visit www.votensw.info to confirm your enrolment.
