Construction works are well underway towards the redevelopment of the Corowa Sports Club into a multi purpose community and visitor facility.

The Civic Centre will include a new Library, Art Space, Visitor Information Centre, Council Office, RTA Agency and community meeting/function rooms.

This $3.5M project follows extensive planning with expressions of interest and tenders being called in May of this year. Tenders were appointed by Council in June and work has commenced quickly.  The Centre is expected to be operational early in 2012.

BOWLING AND HOCKEY ACCESS

Entry to the Bowling Greens and Hockey Field throughout construction will be from the Swimming Pool side of the building, as per the directional site signage. Thank you for your patience during this time.

ART SPACE

The new Art Space at the Civic Centre will be an exciting opportunity for Corowa Shire residents and visitors to enjoy a variety of permanent and visiting art exhibitions.  The permanent exhibition will showcase the prize winners in all sections of the annual Federation Art Show that have been acquired by Council over the past ten years.

Corowa Shire Civic Centre – Cafe Operator

An exciting business opportunity exists for an operator to run a Cafe as part of the new Corowa Shire Civic Centre.

Corowa Shire Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitable candidates to lease and operate the Café which will service the new multi-purpose community centre. The Café premises will be prominently located adjacent to the main entrance of the centre.

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to provide high quality food and coffee; have a strong desire to grow a successful business alongside a new multi-purpose community and visitor facility; and have a passion for the provision of outstanding customer service.
