Unit Y located at 44 Queen Street, Corowa is a centre for young people 12-18 years old. It is fully supervised and provides a safe and welcoming place for young people to meet their friends, participate in casual or organised activities or just hang out. The centre is open every Wednesday afternoon from 3.30 to 6.00pm during school term to drop in, relax or have a chat to Serena about what you would like to see happening at Unit Y. Once per month a Friday Big Screen Night is held. This usually involves a social BBQ and watching a movie, or playing off at guitar hero or sing star. Activities at the centre are determined by a group of young people who consult with others about what they want to do. This results in changes to events and activities which might also include bus trips to Albury/Wodonga to play ten pin bowling, go to a show or listen to live music. Everyone 12-18 is invited to come to Unit Y. There is lots to do including table tennis, pool, darts, board games, tv, PS2 or dvd. Unit Y MakeOver The MakeOver project is funded by Artstart & supported by TAFENSW, Murray Arts and Corowa Shire Works to be included in the makeover which involves young people working with local artists to learn skills and techniques include mural, mosaic, sculpture and landscaping. The project will be run over two weeks and is expected to be a unique experience for all involved. Take a look at our Facebook page - Unit Y Corowa - to see more pictures of progress.
Other activities at Unit Y can be found in the Whats On section of the Council's website or our Facebook page - Unit Y Corowa
