FLY A WHITE BALLOON DAY

Keeping Kids Safe in Our Community

Thank you to everyone involved in Fly a White Balloon day which was held last Tuesday 8 September as part of child protection week. Fly a White Balloon is an annual event about keeping kids safe in our community and raising awareness of child sexual assault.

This year white balloons were flying in local IGA and Safeway supermarkets, post offices, council offices, pre-schools and schools in Corowa, Howlong and Mulwala.

In addition St.Mary's Primary and Corowa Public school pupils in K-2 took part in a colouring competition sponsored by Corowa Shire Council that provided young people with the message that their community cares about kids and wants to keep them safe.

Pictured are some of the artworks, winners, teachers and pupils involved in promoting the message.
