Community Development

Community Development is a way of connecting the community with the local Council, Government bodies and services. The Social, Community & Cultural needs of the Corowa Shire have formally been identified within the Social & Community Plan (2006-2011).

The Social, Community & Cultural Plan has identified these key groups requiring community development assistance.
  • Children
  • Young People
  • Older People
  • Women
  • People with Disabilities
  • Rural & Isolated People
  • Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander People
  • People from Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds

Wendy Thompson is the Community Development Officer for the Corowa Shire, responsible for the implementaiton of the Social, Community & Cultural Plan.

Community Safety and Crime Prevention
