Corowa Shire makes good business sense.

  • Ideally placed on the Majestic Murray River and the aquatic paradise of Lake Mulwala
  • Centrally located between Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Adelaide, along the national road and rail corridor
  • Population of over 120,000 within a half hour commute
  • Extensive freight and transport services providing quick and cost effective access nationally and internationally
  • Advanced telecommunications
  • Exceptional lifestyle benefits – a tourism and sporting mecca
  • Total output equivalent to $1,183,183,000 and recent estimates show that there are over 650 businesses operating throughout the Shire
  • An increasingly popular destination for ‘c-changers' that is, those seeking a better quality of life than that offered in the city

Corowa Shire Council works proactively to foster the sustainable economic development of the area. Initiatives are constantly undertaken in consultation with the community and the Shire's economic development group - Business Corowa Howlong Mulwala (BCHM).

The Corowa Shire Economic Development Strategy 2012 - 2017 focuses on building a strong and vibrant local economy through the development of strategies that will facilitate investment, business growth and employment opportunities within Corowa Shire.
